How do I import trades from my broker?

Pro users can import CSV files from their broker. Go to the Import page, upload your file, and the system will automatically detect your broker format (Fidelity, Robinhood, etc.) and parse your options trades. See the Import section in Help for broker-specific guides.

What brokers are supported?

We support CSV imports from Fidelity, Schwab, Robinhood, Interactive Brokers (IBKR), and Questrade. If your broker isn't listed, you can try our generic CSV format or contact support and we'll prioritize it. See the Import section in Help for broker-specific guides.

Question 3

My import failed — what should I do?

First, make sure you're uploading the correct CSV file from your broker (not a screenshot or PDF). Check that the file hasn't been modified in Excel, which can change date formats. If it still fails, email support@premiuminsights.ai with the file attached and we'll investigate. See the Troubleshooting section for more common issues.

How do I add a trade manually?

Click the '+ New Trade' button on the Dashboard page. Fill in the ticker, strategy (CSP/CC), strikes, expiration, quantity, and entry price. Optionally add the stock price at entry to track your basis. See the Trades section in Help for a full walkthrough.

How do I close a trade?

Accepted Answer

Open the trade's Edit modal and click the green 'Close Trade' button. Select a close reason (Bought to Close, Expired, or Assigned), enter exit details, and optionally roll to a new position. See the Trades section in Help for details on each close reason.

Can I reopen a closed trade?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Open the Edit modal for any closed trade and click 'Reopen Trade' in the Exit Details section. This clears the exit data and sets the trade back to OPEN status.

How do I delete trades?

Use the 'Bulk Delete' button in the trades table to select and delete multiple trades, or 'Delete All' to remove all trades at once. Warning: This action cannot be undone!

What does the roll icon mean?

Accepted Answer

The red circular refresh icon indicates a trade is part of a roll chain. Hover over the icon to see if it's the original position (rolled FROM) or the new position (rolled TO). Both trades in a roll share the same chain ID. Rolled trades also appear as threads in the Journal.

How does Close & Roll work?

Close & Roll lets you close an existing position and immediately open a new one with a later expiration in a single flow. The two trades are linked in a roll chain so you can track the full history of the position. See the Trades section in Help for the complete close flow.

I can't see my trades — what's wrong?

Check that you're viewing the correct account in the sidebar dropdown. If you have multiple accounts, trades are separated by account. Also check your date filters — trades outside the selected date range won't appear. Free users can only see trades from the last 12 months. See Troubleshooting for more help.

How is Win Rate calculated?

Win Rate is calculated as (Number of Profitable Trades / Total Closed Trades) × 100. A trade is considered profitable if the net P/L (after fees) is greater than $0. See the Metrics section in Help for all metric definitions and benchmarks.

Question 12

What's the difference between 'Open Premium' and 'Total P/L'?

Open Premium is the credit you've collected on currently active positions. Total P/L is the actual profit/loss from all closed trades. Open Premium represents potential profit if positions expire worthless. See the Income section in Help for more on premium tracking.

What is Profit Factor?

Profit Factor = Total Gains / Total Losses. A value above 1.0 means you're profitable overall. Above 1.5 is good, above 2.0 is excellent. It's a risk-adjusted measure of performance. See the Metrics section in Help for all formulas and benchmarks.

Why is my P&L showing $0?

Accepted Answer

P&L is calculated from closed trades only. If all your trades are still open, Total P/L will be $0. Make sure you've entered exit prices when closing trades. Also check that entry and exit prices are per-contract values (not total), as incorrect pricing will produce a $0 result. See Troubleshooting for more help.

What is the trading journal?

The journal helps you capture your thesis before seeing outcomes, rate your execution after closing, and build a searchable library of trade stories. It has two tabs: Active (open trades) and Stories (closed trades with reflections). See the Journal section in Help for the complete guide.

Question 16

What does 'Seal Thesis' mean?

Accepted Answer

Sealing locks in your pre-trade reasoning with a timestamp. Once sealed, your thesis cannot be edited — this protects against hindsight bias. Because the thesis was written before the outcome, it provides an honest record of your thinking at the time. See the Journal section in Help for thesis-writing tips.

Why is the P&L blurred when I rate a trade?

The P&L is initially hidden so you can rate your execution objectively, without being influenced by the outcome. After you submit your rating, the P&L is revealed. This helps build honest self-assessment habits.

Why can't I rate a trade that closed more than 30 days ago?

Accepted Answer

Ratings are most accurate when the trade is fresh in your memory. After 30 days, the 'Rate this trade' button is replaced with a suggestion to add a retrospective note instead. Retrospective notes let you capture hindsight reflections without affecting your execution rating.

What's the difference between a thesis and a retrospective note?

A thesis is written before the trade outcome is known and gets sealed (locked) with a timestamp — it captures your reasoning at entry. A retrospective note is written after the trade closes, with full knowledge of the outcome. Theses are for pre-trade reasoning; retrospectives are for hindsight reflections.

What is the calendar view?

The Calendar page shows your trades organized by expiration date. Each day displays the trades expiring on that date with color-coded P&L indicators. It helps you plan ahead and avoid having too many positions expiring on the same day. See the Calendar section in Help for details.

Yes — Premium Insights is a responsive web app that works in any mobile browser. The dashboard, trades table, and charts adapt to smaller screens. For the best experience with Stats charts and the Journal, we recommend a tablet or desktop.

What is demo mode?

Demo mode loads 61 sample trades so you can explore the full platform before adding your own data. It activates automatically on your first sign-in. Everything is read-only — you can browse the Dashboard, Stats, Calendar, and Journal without affecting your account. See the Getting Started section for a full demo walkthrough.

How do I exit demo mode?

Click the 'Use My Account' button in the indigo banner at the top of the dashboard. You can also skip demo mode from the Welcome Modal when you first sign in.

Can I go back to demo mode after exiting?

No — the switch is permanent. Once you exit demo mode, the sample trades are removed and your account shows your own data. We recommend exploring the demo thoroughly before switching.

Is the sample data in demo mode real?

Accepted Answer

The demo uses real tickers (AAPL, MSFT, TSLA, etc.) with realistic parameters, but the trades belong to a fictional trader. The data spans January through December 2025 and uses a fixed reference date of December 31, 2025 so metrics stay consistent.

Can I track multiple trading accounts?

Free users get 1 account. Pro users can create unlimited accounts using the account dropdown in the sidebar. Each account maintains separate trade history, metrics, and analytics. You can also view all accounts combined with the All Accounts view. See the Billing section in Help for details.

What's the difference between Free and Pro plans?

Free gives you unlimited trades with 1 year of history and 1 account. Pro unlocks unlimited history, unlimited accounts, CSV import from brokers, All Accounts aggregation, and strategy performance breakdown. All new users get a 30-day Pro trial. What happens when my free trial ends?

After 30 days, your account moves to the Free plan. You keep all your trades and data — nothing is deleted. You'll lose access to Pro features like multiple accounts and unlimited history (Free shows the last 12 months). CSV import stays available on all plans. Upgrade anytime from Settings → Billing to restore Pro access.

What happens to trades older than 1 year on Free?

On the Free plan, you can only view trades from the last 12 months. Your older trades are still stored securely — upgrade to Pro anytime to unlock your full trade history.

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from Settings → Billing. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your billing period, and your data is always preserved.

What happens when I upgrade mid-cycle?

When you upgrade to Pro, you get immediate access to all Pro features. Your billing cycle starts from the upgrade date. If you were on a trial, the trial ends and your paid subscription begins.

I'm having a billing issue (double charge, unexpected charge, etc.)

Email support@premiuminsights.ai with your account email and a description of the issue. We'll investigate within 24 hours. Common fixes: if you see a duplicate charge, it may be a pending authorization that will clear in 3-5 days. If your trial ended earlier than expected, check your sign-up date in Settings → Billing.

How do I delete my account?

Email support@premiuminsights.ai from the email address associated with your account and request account deletion. We'll confirm the deletion within 48 hours. All your data (trades, journal entries, settings) will be permanently removed.

Do you sell my trading data?

Accepted Answer

No. We never sell, share, or monetize your trading data. Your trade history, journal entries, and analytics are private and only accessible to you. We make money from subscriptions, not data.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never share your data with third parties. Your trading information is private and only accessible to you.

I can't log in — what should I do?

First, check that you're using the same method you signed up with (email/password vs. Google). If you forgot your password, click 'Forgot Password' on the login page to reset it. Try clearing your browser cookies if you're stuck in a redirect loop. If none of that works, email support@premiuminsights.ai with your account email. See Troubleshooting for more help.

How do I change my password?

Go to Settings and click 'Change Password' in the account section. You'll need to enter your current password and then your new password twice to confirm. If you've forgotten your password, use the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page.
